Weather report
From Spheriki
Weather report will be an active-turn based RPG, with a focus on battle strategy. Set in a near-future urban environment, the player will take on the role of Cole, a member of Tyrian Research Associates' Sample Acquisition Team, as he learns the true intnetions of his employer.

Gameplay
While the battle system will have a similar feel to that of Final Fantasy 6 and similar '90s titles, there will be a much bigger focus on tactics. The main thrust of the game is that the player will NOT be able to get away with just leveling up his characters' STR to 99 and then mashing the "Attack" command for 40 hours until he wins. You will have to outsmart your enemies, not just overpower them.
Otherwise, expect a more or less traditional RPG experience.
Features
High level of customization: The standard equipment system is here, but the player will also be able to modify skills, spells, and items.
Deep Storyline: The theme is "Extremes in environmentalism". I'll leave you to ponder that for a while.
Challenging AI: Even the random encounters will provide a healthy challenge.
Notes and Random Babbling
I'm going for a surrealist twist on the dungeon environments. You're going to have a more or less normal city environment, branching off into all sorts of crazy alternate worlds. The goal is to make the dungeon areas jump off the screen at the player. When he goes into one of these spaces, he/she is going to KNOW IT.
While the graphics are going to be done in a style popularized in Japan, the names, environments, and character design are going to be in a more Western style. The reason is simply that every RPG designer and their grandmother is making a Japanese styled game. Dare to be different, I always say.
