Tnb startup
From Spheriki
The true title of this page is tnb_startup. The first letter is capitalised and the underscore is absent due to technical restrictions.
As of March 1, 2006, tnb_startup is the official startup game for the Sphere RPG engine. It comes in two versions, a regular version, and a more-recent compatibility version. The only difference between them is that the compatibility version fixes some graphical bugs, and contains minor improvements.

Usage
Being a startup game, it isn't 'played' like traditional games. Rather, it acts as a portal or menu to access other games that the user has installed with their Sphere installation.
To install the game, the user needs to extract the archive first. Then they either rename, remove or backup the sphere/startup/ directory. Finally, they rename the extracted directory to startup/. The next time the user invokes the Sphere RPG engine, the new startup game will be used automatically.
To use the game, the user scrolls up and down the menu, optionally filtering out results using the search bar. The user can then pick a game to play at their leisure.
The user can also change certain options in the options menu, opened by pressing the Escape key. Here, the resolution and game sorting order can be changed. The user can also choose to exit.
Controls
- Cursor keys navigate the menus.
- Home and End go to the top and bottom of the games list respectively.
- Page Up and Page Down go up and down a screenful of games at a time respectively.
- Enter is the confirm key, used to select menu options.
- Escape is both the return/cancel key for menus, and will also bring up the options menu.
- Alphanumeric characters will filter the games list using the search term at the top of the main interface.
- Backspace will delete characters from the search term.
- The search term is sought in both the game title and author.
- Searching is case-insensitive.
User Comments
- I like it, but it might be because of my bias. :) --Tunginobi 21:47, 5 July 2006 (PDT)
- Actually I was using fliks startup menu the one with blue funky colors. I like your style and I'm going to use it until I get my startup project done. --Feek 16:32, 8 July 2006 (PDT)
- Neat, I did'nt like the clock though, so I made it non-military time. I like it a lot better than the original startup!. -- Leon26910 16:30, 6 March 2007 (CST)
