Run config.exe

Before starting Sphere (engine.exe), I would recommend you run config.exe first. This allows you to configure your system to your needs. Running config.exe will open a window with four tabs: Video, Audio, Input and Network.

Video, controls, audio and network

First configure your video drivers. Sphere looks best in 32 bits but runs faster in 16 bits. Changing the video driver can also solve weird problems with starting up games.

Next, you should configure your input. Here you can choose keys for moving in four directions for each of up to four players. You can choose whether or not the keyboard and/or joystick should be used.

The Audio tab is used to enable and disable sounds and music.

The Network tab can be used to enable and disable LAN and Internet connections from Sphere games.

Running games

After configuring Sphere, you can either run engine.exe, which is the Sphere engine that allows you to play games created in Sphere, or you can run editor.exe which runs the Sphere Editor, allowing you to create games in Sphere and edit existing games.

The games\ folder

Sphere runs games in folders from the sphere\games folder. A folder is created for you automatically when you create a new game in the Sphere Editor.

To delete a game called "test_game" you just need to go to the sphere\games folder and delete the folder called "test_game".
