Sphere Community Game/Charter
From Spheriki
DRAFT: INPUT WELCOME
This document says what we want out of the Sphere Community Game project, and says what we don't.
Contents |
[edit]
Project
The project consists of:
- The game
- Activities (things that need to be done to "make" the game.)
- The team
[edit]
The game
The game should:
- Be a top-down 2D role-playing game in the vein of those found in the SNES era.
- Show that the Sphere engine can be used as the basis of a full RPG.
- Be complete! No loose ends should be in the final outcome.
The game should not:
- Require too many side-quests.
- Be a tech-demo of impressive effects.
[edit]
Activities
Activities should:
- Always help the development team.
- Give us all the same clear game in mind.
- Encourage the team with a record of progress!
- Allow us to estimate how long this project will take.
Activities should not:
- Get in the way of the development team.
- Be neglected. A neglected activity should change to suit the team.
[edit]
The team
The team should:
- Consist of volunteers of the Spherical community (the community of the Sphere RPG Engine).
- Dedicate their efforts towards the successful completion of the project.
- Help each other and communicate!
- Allow contribution from regular and non-regular members of the community.
The team should not:
- Stop! Studies show that a person's productivity is tied to the productivity of everybody else (not their skill level, like you'd expect.)
- Stop communicating without some sort of notice.
[edit]
The end result
The end result should be:
- A playable RPG.
- Distributed as a bundled archive file.
- Hosted in a community-related location.
- Complete!
