Synopsis

THIS IS THE STORY OF MANY YEARS AGO...

Thrust into the middle of a war spanning nearly two decades, the Prince of Meri and his platoon must triumph over the armies of Tulane or their kingdom will fall. But as the war wears on, never-ending and never-ceasing, the events of many years ago start to creep back onto the soldiers, haunting their dreams, and unless wiped away, it will envelop them all...

Lead Characters

Jastlin

  • Age: 23
  • Weapon: Spear. Damages everything 2 panels in front.
  • Description: Despite his age, he is a capable commander, able to make split-second decisions that may save his platoon's life. No matter how hard he tries to hide it, though, his hard exterior has cracks. And those cracks only seem to deepen the more he learns about those many years ago...

Grimes

  • Age: 43
  • Weapon: Mace. Damages every person surrounding him, including allies.
  • Description: When the former captain passed away, Grimes, the platoon's second in command, wasn't expecting this replacement. He considers the Prince like a small child, incapable of being a good captain.

Blue

  • Age: 40
  • Weapon: Bow. Can attack 4 panels away, but cannot attack people two panels away.
  • Description: Like his marksmanship, Blue likes to keep his distance. Despite this, Blue will follow orders to his last breath. He also seems to have a particular respect for Grimes.

Jess

  • Age: 24
  • Weapon: Sword. Attacks one panel in front.
  • Description: Jess always jokes around, even in the most dangerous of situations. He never seems to take things seriously, but if that happens, you'll know to listen.

Controls

The game will be for the most part mouse-based. Any other controls will adhere to the standard syntax as follows:

  • Arrow Keys: Move.
  • Z: Talk/Accept.
  • X: Cancel.

Progress

Game Script: 60%

I have the story planned out from beginning to end. What needs to be done now is to translate that into individual missions for the player, and the script for these missions.

Mapping: 5%

The game maps obviously need a lot of work. This is best done after finishing the game script.

Programming: 80%

What needs to be done:

  • Battle animations.
  • "Choices" system for messages.
  • Improved mission selection screen. It currently needs more "flashy effects".
