Description

Hello everyone. This is a game that I have just started working on as part of a challenge that I set for myself. I was surfing the internet one day and noticed a project that someone else had done. They set out to complete a whole game in one work week(40 hours). I have taken it upon myself to do the same and so I will give you guys my progress details here.

Timeline

Here is the timeline that I have set in place to complete this game which I have named Final Frontier.

Hours 1-10

-Image placement

-Set up main game loop

-Do player movement

HOUR 1 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007. 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM

-Well I started working on the sprites for the game which quickly began eating away at my first work hour.

-Finished the windowstyle which contains the GUI for the game.

HOUR 2 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007. 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM

-Well, thanks to energy drinks I decided to work for another hour :D

-I got the paralax scrolling to work properly(I'm not using the map editor).

-I got all of the player movement done.

-I got the basic shot finished.

HOUR 3 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007. 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM

-Yup, that's right, still not tired yet...I think this'll be the last hour for tonight though.

-Coded machine gun, sniper rifle, spreadshot shotgun, double-barrel shotgun(that's all for now)

-Well I'm off to bed, cya!

HOUR 4 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007. 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

-Got powerups to work.

-Finished more of the GUI.

-So far work is well ahead of schedule.

HOUR 5 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007. 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

-Finished everything that I was supposed to get done in the first 10 hours!! :D

HOUR 6 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007. 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

-Good thing I'm ahead of schedule because this hour definately went by without me producing too much. I spent the whole hour trying to perfect my collision detection script. But now that it's all done I am excited because I can get to work on the enemy AI in the next hour.

HOUR 7 - Wednesday, July 4, 2007, 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

-You are now able to get points from destroying enemies

-Two enemies created so far.One shoots, the other isn't suppose to.

HOURS 8 to 10 - Thursday, July 5, 2007. 12:00 AM - 3:00 AM

-Yup, I love late nights :D

-Well, I spent this whole time getting enemies to fire and doing more stuff for detecting collisions. Progress was quite a lot slower during this period then any other period. I hope to make some more progress tomorrow.
