File re-uploaded. There is one remaining problem I know of, unfortunately I have no idea how to fix it, if you call RestartGame() after the game restarts input no longer works, with ExecuteGame(), input doesn't work in the loaded game.

It's working fine here so far (Intel, Tiger), I'll test it on a few games and stuff. Are there any plans for an editor yet?

Hahaha, sorry. I'm just excited this is finally all out and stuff. And I should have plenty of time over the summer to make something.

First of all, thank you for working on a port for os x!
In the description, it said that the mac version is only for system 10.4 and higher. I am running 10.3.9 so I figured I would see if it worked. Just letting you know that everything seems to work fine. The only problem I could find was that the layer movement is kinda messed up. For example, if you have a game with clouds floating overhead and moving by themselves, the layer is there, but it does not move.
Great job again everyone, I am excited that this is finally available for Macintosh!

1. you're welcome 2. as far as 10.4 or higher goes, neither rhuan nor myself have 10.3 on which to test it, nor do i think either of us would be willing to buy & install it just for this purpose. if it works on 10.3, great! if it doesn't, ppl have been warned beforehand. there is currently no plans to support 10.3 specific versions and issues. there's only one person testing it on 10.5 leopard that we know of, and we'd like more leopard testers if that's possible. 3. for this game w/clouds overhead in question, can you supply a test or point us to the game in question so we could test it on our 10.4 systems? if this turns out to be a 10.3 specific issue, refer to #2, otherwise if we can duplicate the problem on 10.4 we can work on it.

neologix: I actually do have a copy of 10.3, I bought my computer during the cross over period, so they gave me both 10.3 and 10.4, but I don't have 10.3 installed, I guess I could create a new partition for it or something...

well then, ignore what i said abt not having 10.3 @rhuan: it's up to you if you want to try 10.3, but keep in mind i don't have 10.3 intel (wasn't 10.3 the last ppc only version?), nor do i plan on getting it, so i won't be able to attempt an intel build.

Hey, sorry for the long wait in replying to this thread!! Anyway, I can supply a game, no problem. It is just as simple as making a second layer and setting it to move by itself. Let me setup just a little test game and I can upload it.. I will also make sure that it has the same problem on my mac.
Also, if you ever want me to test anything on 10.3, I would be glad to! I love sphere and it has finally allowed me to start making games as I have always wanted! I am willing to do anything to help.
If you are interested, I can send you a pm with my email and you can send me versions to test. Just let me know!
--tms (give me a bit to make this quick game.. i will upload it in another post)

Ok, here is a VERY small test game. Basically just a small map with some trees and a character you can move around. On my PC (and on every other PC I have used) you can see transparent clouds moving over the landscape (as if being blown by wind). On the mac (10.3) they do not move. They are still transparent but motionless.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Ok, it doesn't work right on 10.4 either, not even with my newer build... And I thought I'd finally got this all sorted. I'll look into this soonish, I've got loads of other stuff going on though, so it may take me a while. edit: Think I've found the problem, but have work to do, will try and fix tomorrow.

i just installed xcode 2.5 and DLed from cvs, copying the files rhuan told me to as well (they'll be committed to cvs once i finish modifying the xcodeproj to use frameworks whose locations are properly referenced since they all are absolute paths and use rhuan's mac username instead of $(HOME_DIR) or whatever variable it's supposed to be). updated build and commit should be available in a few hours (links will be updated as well as this post).
